Wessel Nimmer (1970,NL)
Dutch-born artist formally known as Wessel Nimmer (Wessel Muller). Always looking for faster ways to change ideas into forms, his objects and paintings are mostly made out of building- and officematerials: memo-stickers, glues, floor- and wallpaints, adhesive tape and markers. Often his works combine wordplaying, images and a graphic use of color.
Recently he builds installations out of recycled wood painted monochrome grey, which serve at the same time as furniture and barricades.
In his "3-chord-visuals", based on digital photography, drawings and bitmaps in short graphic loops, he strives for similar direct, rough-edged, but nevertheless esthetic results.
After studying art in Utrecht, he co-founded a performance- band called Ijime, exposed his work on many occasions in several european countries and restlessly changed studios in the Netherlands before settling in Berlin. Since 2002 he collaborates with Joerg Suermann in JPECH.
